Pink Floyd-branded cassette player

We Are Rewind Pink Floyd-branded cassette player

Given enough time out of the spotlight, just about any audio format will eventually experience some sort of comeback. Vinyl has made a more-than-respectible return to the marketplace. Cassettes might be next.

We Are Rewind — which boasts, “We didn’t invent the cassette player, but we reinvented it” — is selling a Pink Floyd-branded player for $199.

Sporting a “Dark Side of the Moon” theme, the limited edition player comes bundled with a cassette copy of the 2023 50th Anniversary Edition of Floyd’s prog-rock masterpiece “The Dark Side of the Moon” and numbered authenticity card.

And while this might seem to be 1980s technology, this device, officially the WE-001, features Bluetooth connectivity to pair with wireless headphones or speakers; and a rechargeable battery for up to 12 hours of playback.
